Red Seal PREP for Trades

There is a need in the marketplace to train trades workers with the purpose of passing the Red Seal Exam. Complete Corporate Training, has developed the Red Seal P.R.E.P. program to specifically assist in passing the Red Seal exam for compulsory and non-compulsory trades. The program is tailored to each specific trade and includes exam-writing skills, technical vocabulary with picture dictionaries, practice exams and official material and resources from Alberta Apprenticeship & Industry Training (AIT). It also includes goal-setting material to ensure each individual's success in the program.

The trades theory training combined with Workplace English language training is the optimal method for foreign trained workers to prepare for the Red Seal Exam. Complete Corporate Training can also arrange interpretation and translation services. The program has been administered both in Alberta and overseas and continuous improvements and customized elements are being developed.

Pre-Assessment

  • English Language Assessment
  • Technical Theory Assessment
  • Practical Skills Assessment (when required for certain trades)

Instruction

  • Trade specific Workplace English (recommended)
  • Technical Theory
  • Technical Practical (when required for certain trades)

Instructors: are highly qualified individuals with both practical industry and teaching experience. Before initiating the program, CCT will share the instructor profile with the client.

Competency Assessment and PLAR

Assess and certify your current HCA staff. Assessments are based on Alberta Health & Wellness guidelines and standards. Previous Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR) training programs provide credit for current competencies and instruction for skills which need to be updated. Competency Assessment Profiles and PLAR training programs are flexible and can be arranged to meet the work schedules of your staff.

Full HCA Program
  • Licensed through training provider, Academy of Learning
  • Complete program: 22 weeks Full-time , 52 weeks Part-time
  • Competency Assessment Profile (CAP), PLAR - (Previous Learning Assessment and Recognition)
  • Training on-site or at an Academy of Learning campus
    (Edmonton, Calgary, Red Deer, and Medicine Hat)
  • On-site practicum students
